BROOKHAVEN — Six local businesses in Lincoln County passed restaurant inspections in the last two weeks. They include a sandwich shop, a burger joint, a snow cone stand, a restaurant and two gas stations.  

Mississippi Department of Health issued straight A’s to the six establishments. Walmart Distribution and McClane Southern received Xs as food warehouses. X is the same grade assigned to ice vendors. 

Gas station B&B Handy Mart, located at 555 Brookway Boulevard, received an A rating for the seventh straight time since 2017. C-Store at 714 East Monticello Street received an A rating for its first inspection. 

Brookhaven’s iconic sandwich shop earned an A from the Mississippi Department of Health last week. Bob’s Sandwich Shop, located at 208 East Cherokee Street, earned its eighth straight A since 2016 according to MSDH records. 

Star Town Food Mart, located at 701 East Monticello Street, earned an A for the fifth straight time since 2019. 

Bogue Chitto Boys, a restaurant located at 2229 US51 SE, earned an A for the sixth straight time since 2018. 

Brookhaven snow cone stand Pokey Dot’s Snoballs earned an A this week. Pokey Dot’s, located at 299 US51 N, earned its eighth straight A since 2016.
