BROOKHAVEN — Jack’s Dessert Shop is closed but another delicious treat will soon take its place. Mississippi Ice Daiquiri Shop will be the next tenant of a space adjacent to Serio’s Pizza on Whitworth Avenue. 

A laminated sign stuck in the window says the Daiquiri Shop is coming soon. Katie Nations, Program Director at Brookhaven Chamber of Commerce, said she knows the owner is Mark LeBlanc. 

The Mississippi Department of Health does not have a restaurant permit issued for the establishment yet according to an online database. Mississippi’s Alcoholic Beverage Control does not have a current permit issued for the establishment. 

Workers were inside renovating the space Friday afternoon.

As of Monday afternoon, LeBlanc has not responded to text or phone call. This story will be updated with more information when it is available.
