BROOKHAVEN — A new fitness studio is in town offering a way for people to exercise using the Lagree technique which combines core, strength and endurance. Monday will be the first day of classes.

Asset Management, a Lagree Studio, is located at 215 South Jackson Street. All you have to look for is the peach in the window.

Stacey Lambert is the owner of the new business with the support of her husband Ben Lambert. She grew up in Memphis before moving to Olive Branch when she was 15. The Lamberts moved to Brookhaven from Monticello two years ago.

“I never thought I would be a business owner with a pair of big gold scissors cutting a ribbon,” Lambert said. “We are overwhelmed with the support and the love of this town. We genuinely love being here. We moved here during COVID and renovated a house. Moving here was a great decision for us.”

She said during COVID she started teaching fitness classes in a different method but faced backlash. Lambert said she lost her passion for teaching and love of fitness.

It was not until she went to Knoxville to watch her niece compete in gymnastics that she ran into a friend. Lambert said the friend was someone she worked with previously who had opened a Lagree studio. She took a class and fell in love with the fitness style.

“It is such an easy method on the body. It is slow and controlled. The machine is yours,” Lambert said. “This has been a labor of love. This is a workout for everyone. Men and women of all fitness levels are welcome. I am so happy to share this method with Brookhaven now.”

Asset Management does not have a lobby so the doors will be locked during classes. Classes are offered on Monday and Wednesday from 5 to 10 a.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 a.m.

Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce program director Katie Nations said she plans to take one of the classes. Anyone who is interested in taking the class can message ASSETMGMT on Instagram or Facebook to find an open time. Space for the classes is limited.
