Cool nights in forecast as fall nears

BROOKHAVEN — Maybe fall and football weather is here after all. While the forecasted high temperature for Friday is 95, low temperatures from now until Wednesday are below 70 degrees.
There is no rain in the forecast tonight in Lincoln County so you won’t need a rain jacket to watch any Friday night action. The low tonight is 65 so if you are cold natured it might be good to grab a hoodie just in case.
Saturday is forecast to be sunny with a high of 93 in Brookhaven. State fans will enjoy a high of 86 Friday night with the low dropping down to 64 in Starkville. There is no chance of rain in the forecasts.
Ole Miss fans going to New Orleans can expect a high of 91 and low of 74. There is a 20 percent chance of rain for New Orleans.
Sunday through Tuesday is forecast to be sunny with high temperatures between 91 to 95 degrees. Low temperatures will be between 64 to 67 degrees. Wednesday is forecast to have a 20 percent chance of rain.
Burn risk increases
Burn bans are still in effect across Mississippi. Lincoln County is under a burn ban until further notice as dry conditions persist. Please refrain from open burning at this time.
National Weather Service in Jackson warns the conditions across Southwest Mississippi are still ideal for wildfires to spread. Extra caution is urged at this time. Please dispose of cigarettes properly and do not allow trailer chains to drag on the road ways.
Nine out of 10 wildfires are caused by humans.
