LOYD STAR — No one was injured in a house fire at 968 Macedonia Road Wednesday. Lincoln County EMA Director Chris Reid said he is not sure how the fire started. He was one of the first people to arrive on scene. 

Eleven trucks arrived on scene including four tankers. Heucks Retreat, Loyd Star, New Site, Bogue Chitto, Hog Chain and Zetus VFD fought against the inferno. A fireman from Strong Hope VFD was also there to help fight the flames. For three hours, the crews battled the blaze. 

The fire spread through the structure and continued to burn.  The home was a total loss.

A sign in front of the home said a senior from Loyd Star Attendance Center lives there. Loyd Star Principal Seth Lofton said the school is offering support during this time.
