BROOKHAVEN — A 2-0 victory over Oak Forest Academy clinched a district title for the Brookhaven Academy Soccer team Monday night. The win capped off a dominant regular season for the Cougars.

Head Coach Alex Brown’s side did not concede a single goal in district play and outscored opponents 30-0. They were undefeated in district play and won all of their eight district games.

Brookhaven Academy will advance to the quarterfinals of the MAIS 5A playoffs.

St. Aloysius and Brookhaven Academy will play in Brookhaven next Monday for the playoff round. A win would send the Cougars one step closer to a state title.

Speaking of state titles, Brookhaven Academy’s softball team advanced to the state tournament and finished second in the South State tournament this weekend. The Cougars are looking to win a third straight state softball title.

The MAIS 5A Softball State tournament will be played in Magee.
