Funeral services for Mattie Roberts Peterson will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 7, at Riemanns Funeral Home in Gulfport, MS, at the Three Rivers Road location. Mrs. Peterson, age 79, died Oct. 1, 2023, at her home in Bogue Chitto, MS.

Mattie graduated from Enterprise High School in Brookhaven in 1963. She lived in Bogue Chitto until she married Charles in 1964. Charles and Mattie then moved to Gulfport. Mattie returned to Bogue Chitto three years ago to live with her sister.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Peterson; parents, Lee Roy and Myrtis Roberts; step-mother, Willena Roberts; brothers, Bobby Roberts, S.W. Roberts and Clinton Davis; and her sisters, Pauline Hall and Ginnie Varnado.

She is survived by her daughter, Sonya Seals and husband, Randy; siblings Inez Johnston, Linda Johnson, Glenda Allen, Louise Busby and husband Tommy, Janie Hart and husband Gary, and Robert Davis and wife Jennifer; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
