MONTICELLO — Wards closed in Monticello but the closing allowed Karen Lewis to open a second restaurant. She owns Miss K’s in Liberty and plans to open a second location at 320 Broad Street in Monticello. 

Miss K’s will have a breakfast menu and a full menu for lunch. Hours will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to start out. Lewis said she plans to add blue plate lunches once the restaurant gets settled in. 

Her Liberty location has hours from 5:45 a.m. to 7p.m. Patrons can either dine in or go through the drive through line. 

“We have been in Liberty for 34 years. I saw a need here and decided to open up a restaurant,” Lewis said. “I think it will be a great asset to Monticello. People seem excited.” 

She hopes to open the restaurant by November.
