County firefighters extinguish two blazes

EAST LINCOLN — A skidder on East Lincoln caught fire Monday afternoon igniting a busy afternoon for Lincoln County Volunteer Fire Departments. Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency Director Chris Reid said the fire was put out.

Additionally, fire fighters have contained a wildfire on MS 550 near The Venue at 550. Reid said Lawrence County is currently battling a fire near the Lincoln County line on Mallalieu Road.

A burn ban is still in effect for Lincoln County. Please heed the burn ban and be cautious with equipment such as brush hogs and lawn mowers.
