BROOKHAVEN — A nice cool day of fall will be followed by rain Wednesday. National Weather Service in Jackson forecasts the rain to stick around a few days.
Wednesday’s chance of rain is 60 percent and rated as likely to rain on the NWS website. Tuesday night a 20 percent chance of rain is forecast.
Thursday’s forecast of rain is 20 percent and so is Friday. It might be the best chance of rain so far this fall.
Food plot planters might want to take advantage of Wednesday’s forecasted rain. Moisture in the soil is needed for seed germination and it might be the best chance yet.
Dry conditions continue to persist and remain a threat for fires to quickly spread. Lincoln County and 51 other counties in Mississippi are under burn bans.
Please be responsible and heed all burn bans. Low humidity and winds could help a fire get out of control quickly.
Citations will be issued for anyone who violates the burn ban and people are liable for damage caused by fire they set.
