BROOKHAVEN — Lawyer Lindsey B. Abdalla celebrated the ribbon cutting of her law office right in the heart of downtown Brookhaven Wednesday. She said she loves the area and the community space on Cherokee Street was the perfect place to open.

Abdalla is an Ole Miss alumni where she earned a degree in managerial finance before pursuing a law degree at Mississippi College. She is originally from McComb and previously practiced law in Summit and Jackson before moving her office to Brookhaven down the road from her home on South Jackson Street.

“I am really excited. I love this town. I love downtown and spending time in downtown Brookhaven. There is always something to do,” Abdalla said.

Her new office shares space with Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith’s office and a community kitchen and conference room. She has practiced law for 12 and a half years but five of those years were part time work as she took care of her kids at home.

Abdalla’s focus in law is family law. She said it is the only law she will handle besides notaries.

“After I went to law school I started working with the domestic violence hotline. My soul was hurting for those victims. I worked with them and I fell in love with family law,” Abdalla said. “It is a boutique family law firm. Which means it is very customized to the client and is a small firm.”

Abdalla’s law firm can be found at 119 West Cherokee Street Suite D in Brookhaven. Her office hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday but it is best to schedule an appointment by calling 601-248-7779 or emailing lindsey@lalawfirmpllc.com.
