BROOKHAVEN — Lincoln County Supervisors voted to approve a contract with Dickerson & Bowen for new paving projects Monday morning. Holmes said the contract is for 31 roads in various parts of the county and will cost $4,150,360.75.

D&B is currently making progress on projects in the county. Holmes said they are working on Lee street right now and will work on Concord, Derry and Auburn Meadows, Union, Harmony and Elm. It is likely the work will be completed for the rain comes.

Holmes said once the road list has been finalized for D&B’s new contract he will release it. D&B should get to work on the new contract as soon as they are able to with weather permitting.

“As long as temperatures are above 50 degrees you can pave. In Mississippi, you can realistically pave year round,” Holmes said. “I don’t think we will have any setbacks as long as there are no long streaks of cold weather.”

Aside from a 30 percent chance of rain Thursday there are no other chances of rain in the current week long forecast.
