BROOKHAVEN — A crowd of students, teachers, administrators and community members celebrated a ribbon cutting with Brookhaven Academy Wednesday. The celebration marks a milestone in the school’s history.

Toted as the largest construction project since Brookhaven Academy built its campus off of Brookway Boulevard Extension, the new building features offices and 10 classrooms. The courtyard leading to the gym is now replaced by a welcoming hallway and two floors. BA’s logo shines bright beckoning at night for anyone driving down the Interstate to steal a glance.

Brookhaven Academy broke ground on the project in January of 2023. It was completed in time for school in August. Athletic Director Ron Kessler made sure to say thanks before the ribbon cutting.

“Thank you to God because without him this would not be possible,” Kessler said. “Thank you to our board of directors. Thank you to the people and organizations who made this possible.”

Student Council President Parker Miller echoed the words of thanks at the podium.

“Thank you to our school board members, administrators and parents for putting the trust in our future for years to come,” Miller said. “Thank you for being here today and being a part of our school history. Thank you and God Bless.”
