BROOKHAVEN — It is time for good fire news. Lincoln County did not have any fires Sunday while neighboring Copiah County battled fires along I-55 Friday and Saturday.

National Weather Service in Jackson warned of fire danger this weekend due to low humidity, dry conditions and potential for gusty winds.

Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency Director Chris Reid said there was a minor fire Saturday but had nothing new to report Sunday. Copiah, Lincoln, Lawerence, Pike and other neighboring counties remain under a burn ban until further notice.
