BROOKHAVEN — It was a cold and dreary round at Ole Brook Country Club Monday. Loyd Star Boys Golf Team leads the pack after the first 18 holes of the MHSAA 1A-2A Boys State Golf Tournament.

Loyd Star is currently up by two strokes at 33 over par. Resurrection is in second place with 35 and Eupora is in third at 45 over par.

Brody Thibodeaux leads the Loyd Star team at 2 over par. Kayne Case has shot six over, Caden White has shot 10 over, Nathan Mills has shot 15 over, Riley Case is at 16 over and Casen Easterling is at 22 over par.

West Lincoln’s Gabe Gennaro and Sherman Hyer are playing as individuals. Gennaro is eight over par while Hyer is 12 over par.

Round 2 of the State Golf Tournament will be Tuesday at the Ole Brook Country Club.
