Christmas events are coming to town

BROOKHAVEN — Have a holly and jolly Christmas in Lincoln County by kicking off the holiday season with a Christmas Tree Lighting and Parade. Check back for updates on community events as we near Christmas. 

Brookhaven will soon deck the halls and Railroad Park for the Christmas Season. Black Friday will be the official lighting of a giant Christmas Tree in downtown Brookhaven. Check back on our website for updates as the tree is put together and decorated ahead of the Christmas Tree Lighting. The lighting will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Visit Brookhaven announced there will be live music from the Mississippi School fo the Arts and Brookhaven High School choir at 6 p.m. The Christmas Tree Lighting will be done at 6 p.m. followed by Mike Rob and the 601 Band performing from 7 to 9 p.m.

Pictures with Santa will be inside the log cabin decorated for Christmas from 6 to 8p.m. Kids activities will feature bounce houses, a choo-choo train, face painting and a 360 degree photo booth from 6 to 8 p.m. at Railroad Park on November 24.

The tree will be ready to shine nearly a week before the Christmas Parade in Brookhaven on November 30. The parade starts at 6:30 p.m. and if you want to register for the parade call the Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce at 601-833-1411 or visit the chamber website. 

Tom Smith Land and Homes will host an event ahead of the Christmas Parade and the public is invited to come. Kids can write letters to Santa at the Tom Smith Land and Homes office at 128 S. Whitworth Avenue starting at 5:30 on November 30. 

In addition to letters to Santa, kids can enjoy snacks, refreshments, pictures with Santa, ornament decorating, temporary tattoos, photo-ops, giveaways and more.
