Mrs. Stamps, 87, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 15 2023, at Diversicare of Brookhaven. She was born on February 7, 1936, in Red Lick, MS, to Charles P. McCoy and Myrtie Belle Dillon. She was a member of First United Church of Brookhaven, MS.

At the early age of 13 Shirley’s mom Myrtie bought the Rainbow Florist on N. Jackson St. and taught Shirley florist design that started her to 65 years in the business known as Rainbow Florist. In 1968 Rainbow Florist built a new building next to the old Brookhaven Funeral Home. Soon after the completion on the new shop Shirley talked her husband Robert to come to work with her. She taught Robert to be an accomplished florist designer. Later her daughter Sabrina joined the family business.
