JACKSON — Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks December Commission Meeting will be held without Sharon Polzin at the table. Her bright personality and professionalism has served the department for the last 12 years.
Polzin is the Executive Assistant to the Commission. She sends out the MDWFP commission meeting agendas, schedules trips and records the meeting minutes. November 30 will be her last day as she retires.
Larry Pugh, Deputy Director, read out a resolution marking Polzin’s retirement and thanking her for her service.
“During the early years she provided administrative and clerical support to the commission. She coordinated commissioners travel and insurance bonds and performed all other support work for the commission,” Pugh said. “Following the retirement of her predecessor, she served as the assistant to the executive director Lynn Possey. She is eligible to retire and has taken the steps to do so. Therefore at this meeting on November 16, the commission voted to honor her service to Mississippi. She has devoted her time and resources and we present this in recognition of her service.”
December 14 will be the next commission meeting with a start time set for 10 a.m. at the department headquarters in Jackson. Commission meetings are subject to time changes and it is unknown if there will be any educational session before the meeting.
