Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jean Lofton will be on Friday, December 15, 2023, at Red Star Ward (LDS) Church in Wesson, MS at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Red Star Cemetery. Bishop Sammy Kimble will be conducting the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Red Star Ward on Friday, December 15 2023, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM.

Mrs. Lofton, 85, of Brookhaven, MS, passed from this life on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was born on July 23, 1938, in Brookhaven, MS, to William Carlos Ratcliff and Mary Lou Lea Ratcliff. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Red Star Ward). Mrs. Lofton was a Homemaker. She loved the outside including gardening, flowers, riding her golf cart with her husband on their property. “Mam-maw” loved her grandchildren and enjoyed watching them swim at her pool. She enjoyed her entire family vacations to the beach which they have been doing for over 40 years. She also enjoyed Halloween parties for her family. She especially enjoyed playing tricks on the grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlos and Mary Lou Ratcliff; sisters Iva Pearl Golmon, Ida Lea Britt and Juanita Coone; brother Shelby Ratcliff; and son-in-law Robert Rothrock.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Aaron Lofton; daughters, Lisa Williams (Rusty) and Kimberly Rothrock; son, Chris Lofton (Pat); grandchildren, Craig Lofton, Brandy Richards, Christy Wilson, Jessica Hutchinson, Ashton Farr, Korey Allen and Konner Allen; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and sisters, Margie Falvey and Linda Weathersby.
