Local restaurants pass health inspections before Christmas

BROOKHAVEN — Five local restaurants in Lincoln County received an early Christmas gift this week. They each passed the Mississippi Department of Health’s restaurant inspections with flying colors.
Waffle House, located at 954 Brookway Boulevard, earned an A this week. MSDH records indicate it is the 10th A rating for the Brookhaven Waffle House since 2016.
Taco Bell, located at 977 Brookway Boulevard, earned an A rating this week to continue a hot streak. Since 2012, MSDH issued 12 straight A ratings to Taco Bell. No B or C ratings were listed in the Mississippi Department of Health records.
Poppa’s Fish House, located at 204 US51 North, earned an A rating and also continued a streak of acing the inspection. MSDH issued 19 straight A’s to Poppa’s since 2012. No B or C ratings have been recorded.
Los Parrilleros got back on the A rating hot streak again. Located at 939 Brookway Boulevard, Los Parrilleros earned its second straight A and eighth A rating since 2016. Its last B rating came in 2022 where two minor violations were corrected on scene.
Georgia Blue earned a streak extending A rating as well. The restaurant is located in downtown Brookhaven at 107 South Railroad Avenue. Since 2018, Georgia Blue earned 11 straight A ratings from the Mississippi Department of Health and 14 A ratings overall since 2016.
