BROOKHAVEN — National Weather Service in Jackson placed Lincoln and Lawrence Counties under a tornado watch Monday evening.

The tornado watch is in effect until 7 a.m. Tuesday. Stay weather aware.

A severe thunderstorm could also hit Lincoln, Copiah and Franklin Counties by 10:30 p.m. according to NWS Jackson. This strong storm has 40 mph wind gusts and pea sized hail.
