Teen fugitive captured

Charline Herring Ryan, 78, passed away February 01, 2024 at Kings Daughter’s Hospital in Brookhaven, Mississippi. Visitation will be 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Monday February 5th at Stringer Family Funeral Home in Hazlehurst. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, February 6th at Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Ryan was retired from Signature Works in Hazlehurst and enjoyed her retirement. She enjoyed her cats, crocheting, working on genealogy, and the Ole Miss Rebels. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, and United Daughters of the Confederacy where she served as an officer of Brent Rifles Chapter.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Brevoort Butler (Bree) Ryan; her father, Charles Edward Herring; and brother, Charles Edward Herring Jr.

She is survived by her mother, Sammie La Ree (Polly) Herring of Wesson; daughters, Cynthia D. Ryan of Biloxi, Angela R. Odom of Brookhaven, and Pamela J. “Jodi” Parker and husband Jeff, of Wesson; 4 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
