Funeral services for Mrs. Johnnie Marie Acy will be on Friday, February 9, 2024, at Brookhaven Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Union Baptist Church on Union Road in the East Lincoln community. Bro. Billy Joe Deer will be officiating the services with Brookhaven Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Friday, February 9, 2024, from 11:00 AM till 2:00 PM.

Johnnie Marie Acy, 92, of Brookhaven, Mississippi, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. She was born on July 21, 1931, in Lincoln County, Mississippi, to Tom Ellis Boyte Sr. and Lillie Elizabeth Hemphill Boyte.

Mrs. Acy was a member of Union Baptist Church. She worked at Stahl Urban as a seamstress for many years. She loved serving as a Lincoln County Election Poll Worker. Mrs. Acy’s greatest love was her family.

She was preceded in death by parents, Tom and Lillie Boyte; her husband of over 50 years, Charles William Acy Sr.; sister, Jessie Lee Hilton; brothers, Wessie Dee Boyte Sr., Tom Boyte Jr. and Hugh Boyte.

Survivors include daughters, Kathy King (Donnie Sr.), Sherry Adams (Bill), Tina Marble (Kenneth), Tammy Vinson (Frank), and Sara Owen (Bill); son, Chet Acy (Jessie); sister, Joan Hester; 20 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.

The family would like to give a special thank you to Heidi Cain and Schennay Butler of Deaconess Hospice of Brookhaven, Mississippi, and Jamie Sharp, Zefer Young, and Rebecca Blanchard of All At Home Personal Care of Brookhaven, Mississippi.

Mrs. Acy was an avid sports fan. She played point guard while in school and had many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who shared the same love for sports. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Johnnie Acy to The Brookhaven/Lincoln County Fellowship of Christian Athletes at Bank of Brookhaven.
