BROOKHAVEN — Monticello native and Bogue Chitto Resident Sarabeth Hall celebrated the opening of her Haven Skin and Aesthetics business in Downtown Brookhaven with a ribbon cutting Wednesday. Haven is located at 122 Monticello Street and is open Monday and Thursday from 9 am. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 9am to 2pm.

Hall said she graduated nursing school in 2012 and became a nurse practitioner in 2018. She started renting a space in town and built her clientele from the ground up while working a part time dermatology job. On Tuesdays, she still travels to Louisiana for the job. 

Eventually, she wanted to expand her services and needed more availability for customers. She found the space where Curves was open for 27 years before it closed and decided to open her business. The former gym was transformed into a skin care clinic. 

“It is amazing. I feel very lucky to be in town with so much community support. I really enjoy this career,” Hall said. “Skin care has always been a personal priority of mine. When I started seeing a dermatologist I knew I wanted to get into it. Aesthetics was something appealing to me. It is what drove me.”

Her husband is Stuart Hall of Bogue Chitto. He is the assistant chief of Bogue Chitto Volunteer Fire Department. Hall said she was very fortunate to have his support and considers herself the “luckiest girl in the world.” 

A special place

Haven Skin and Aesthetics will serve customers looking for aesthetic procedures and anyone with common medical skin conditions. Hall said she can treat customers for aesthetic and medical needs. 

Meagan Allred is a nurse working for Haven. She initially joined Hall to assist with scheduling and social media posts. Allred is now able to do some of the treatments offered and is a good friend of Hall’s outside of work. They both will work to provide quality care to customers. 

“When I think of our goal or our mission, it is to make everyone feel welcome when they come in and be comfortable when they leave,” Hall said. “We are fortunate to live in a community with great businesses. I wanted to create my own little space. My vision is to have a space where people are comfortable. I’m excited to have a business in Brookhaven. It is a dream.” 

Katie Nations, Brookhaven-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce Program Director, thanked the Halls for investing in Downtown Brookhaven. She said the celebration of a new business had a special meaning to her and her family. 

Her mom Debbie Smith owned Curves in the space for 27 years. Nations said Debbie prayed someone would love the space as much as she did. 

“I knew when she retired she worried that someone would take over it and love it like she did and provide for their family,” Nations said. “She prayed for someone to offer something this community was missing. I believe y’all have done that. It is so beautiful. I’m sure when the studs were up you weren’t sure about it. We are thankful for you investing in downtown. It is the heartbeat of our community.”
