ENTERPRISE — Bogue Chitto, Brookhaven Academy, Enterprise, Loyd Star and West Lincoln represented Lincoln County well in an archery tournament held at Enterprise last week. The tournament featured 29 schools and 600 students. 

Enterprise held the tournament in hopes of giving valuable experience to archers prior to the Archery in Mississippi Schools South State competition March 18-22 and state competition April 8-12. Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks spearheads the program which started in 2006 with 10 schools. AIMS has now grown to 500 schools across 50 counties in Mississippi. 

AIMS introduces students to International-Style Target Archery through physical education and extra-curricular activities. It is a safe sport with a 0 percent injury rate with 80,000 students shooting across the state according to MDWFP.

Team Scores

Franklin County took first place in the Elementary School division shooting a combined team score of 2,279 . Topeka Tilton took second with 1,893 and Bowling Green shot 1,676 for third place. 

West Marion took first place in the Middle School division with a combined team score of 3,004. Topeka Tilton took second with 2,814 and North Pike finished third with 2,772. Franklin County finished in fourth with 2,647, Centerville Academy finished fifth with a score of 2,629 and Enterprise finished sixth with a score of 2,566. Adams County Christian School finished seventh with a score of 2,405. Rod Paige Middle School in Monticello shot 1,668 to finish eighth in the division. 

Enterprise finished first in the high school division shooting 3,211. Centerville finished second with a score of 3,156. Bogue Chitto came in third with a score of 3,116. Franklin County finished two points behind Bogue Chitto to finish in fourth place with a score of 3,114. 

North Pike took fifth place with a score of 3,103. Florence took sixth with a score of 3,056 and Bowling Green finished in seventh with a score of 3,049. Amite School Center finished eighth with a score of 3,008. Adams County Christian School finished ninth with a score of 2,992. East Marion finished with a score of 2,879 to take the tenth place spot. 

Tylertown finished in 11th with a score of 2,873. West Lincoln finished 12th with a score of 2,819, Loyd Star finished 13th with a score of 2,594, Brookhaven Academy finished 14th with a score of 2,486. 

Centerville’s Logan Perry was the top male shooter with a score of 283. Brookhaven Academy’s Anna Beth Chalk finished with a score of 284 as the top female shooter. 

Local scores

Rod Paige Middle School’s top male shooters were Korthan McMillian with 223, Carter Smith with 190 and Trey Nowell with 188. Rod Paige’s top female shooters were Adelaide Vasbnnk with 247, Leanna Nations with 219, Rileigh Grant with 203 and Armana Davis with 173. Emily Blond shot 125 and Shyln Presley shot 100 to round out the top shooters. 

Topeka Tilton Middle School’s top male shooters were Jonah Rutland with a score of 269, Karter White with a score of 250, Haylin Bullick with a score of 236 and Blake Hammond with a score of 228. Top female shooters were Teagon Everett with a score of 247, Braylee King shot 240, Lexi Slater shot 236 and Marlee Conley shot 234. The next top shooters were Waylon Dickerson with 226, Jack Everette with 224, Alex Hughes with 216 and Akyn Magee with 208. 

Topeka Tilton Elementary top male shooters were Jake Ainsworth with a score of 212, Zikevlous Nelson with a score of 185, Charles Everett with a score of 126 and Jason Hudson shooting 108. Top female shooters were Christine Slater with a score of 190, Ansley Rutland who shot 186, Madi Young who shot 186 and Darcy Tanksley who shot 180. The next top shooters were Devon Nichols with a score of 169, Olivia Clark shot 165, Kelsi Westmoreland shot 117 and Trinley Everett shot 69. 

Loyd Star’s top male shooters were Riley Touchstone with a 271, Joshua Rutland with 263, Weston Taylor with 252, Hylan Ludlow with 246. Loyd Star’s top female shooters were Avery Barker with 225, Natalie Womack with 224 and Maya Wyant with 206. The next top shooters for the Hornets was Payden McDavid with 241, Riley Friloux with 232, Brenan Reid with 220 and Peyton Copeland with 211. 

Franklin County High School’s top male shooters were Jaxon Westbrook with 279, Hunter Smith with 269, Sebastian Malone with 268 and Fletch Wimberly with 262. Franklin County’s top female shooters were Ava King with 266, Abrielle Simmons with 256, Savanna Emfinger with 254  and Cara Carbery with 245. The next top shooters for the Bulldogs were Caden Tyson with 256, Hayden Torrez with 254, John Priest with 250 and Ashton Moore with 245. 

Franklin County Middle School’s top male shooters were Younez Abuhakmeh with a score of 246, Trevor Touchstone shot 240, Colt Hawes shot 234 and Ridge Ross shot 226. Franklin County Middle School’s top female shooters were Olivia Beach who shot 232, Addison Perryman who shot 210, Gabby Delagarea who shot 208 and Aynslee McGraw who shot 206. The next top shooters for the Bulldogs were Timothy Cupit with a score of 222, Luke Wroten with a score of 216, Ethan Priest with 207 and Braden Foy with 200. 

Franklin County Elementary’s top male shooters were Bryden Sullivan with 247, Bentley Stebbins with 233, Christian Savage with 220 and Seth Ezell with 202. Top female shooters were Chase Watts with 208, Ainsley Wilkinson with 202, Brenli Johnston with 198, Rilyn Burnette with 180. The Bulldog’s next top shooters were Linleigh Priest with a score of 175, Dailyn Floyd with 161, Macy Walker with a score of 136, Haley Perryman with a score of 117. 

Brookhaven Academy’s top male shooters were Parker Miller with 283, Parker Shann with a score of 279, Morgan Johnston with a score of 254. Top female shooters were Anna Beth Clark with a score of 284, Lola Strickland with a score of 247, Daniella Ratliff with a score of 236 and Lonzie Beth Farthing with a score of 236. The Cougar’s next top shooters were Kayleigh Case with a score of 235, Sera Freeman with a score of 219 and Kallie Case with a score of 213. 

Bogue Chitto’s top male shooters were Xan Nations with 271, Austin Moak with 270, Anderson Smith with 268 and Ryan Carlile with a score of 265. Top female shooters were Sadie Cupit with a score of 269, Lucy Gates with 263, Kenzie Brister with 257 and Alecia Nelson with a score of 248. The next top scorers for the Bobcats were Jenna Miller with 255, Eli James who shot 252, Braiden Bales who shot 251 and Devyn Duncan who shot 247. 

West Lincoln’s top male shooters were Mason Chavis with 268, Evan Case with 241, Dylan Noworyta with 240 and Jacob Jones with 223. Top female shooters were Anna McKenzie with 256, Emaleigh Privatte with 248, Marina Spring with 238 and Caitlin Horn with 230. The next top shooters for the Bears were Riley Martin with 223, Elizabeth Vanderslice with 220, Alissa Jones with 217 and Gunner Chisom with 215. 

Enterprise’s top male shooters were Broley Harveston with a score of 281, Tristen Martin with a score of 280, Hayden Gunnell with 268 and Micah Carter with a score of 267. Top female shooters were Kaleigh robinson with 270, Elizabeth Hall with a score of 269, Anna Close with a score of 268 and Ashlee Hoover with a score of 265. The Yellowjackets’ next top shooters were Braxon Branch with 266, Elijah Paul Fuller with 262, Jackson Renfroe with 258 and Caden Hall with 257. 

Enterprise Middle School’s top male shooters were Kadyn Bowman with a score of 260, Braiden Galey with a score of 247, Hollis Rutland with a score of 228, Christian Gable with a score of 223. Top female shooters were Addie Bessonette with a score of 238, Katelyn Thaines with a score of 217, Emma Williams with a score of 205 and Rose Buie with a score of 197. The next top shooters were Cash Lofton with a score of 204, Kylie Davis with a score of 193, John Castilaw with a score of 189 and Gracie Tanner with a score of 165.
