BROOKHAVEN — Lincoln County Administrator Daniel Calcote reported the county was staying on track to meet its budget. His report came during a regularly scheduled board of supervisors meeting Monday. 

Calcote reported Lincoln County collected 56.4 percent of the projected annual revenue five months into the fiscal year. 

“We are on track and should have another big collection of revenue in March. The rest will trickle in the last half of the year,” Calcote said. 

Lincoln County has expended 43.9 percent of the budget but this is due to upfront costs early in the fiscal year. Calcote said the costs eventually level out as the year goes along. 

He reported a few departments were over their annual budgeted expenses through February. Board of Supervisors is 51 percent over their budgeted expenditures due to HOME grant which will be reimbursed by grants, liability insurance and bond payments early in the year. Calcote said the Board of Supervisors department looks ok. 

Buildings and grounds are 70.4 percent over annual budgeted expenses. Calcote said the building and grounds are high due to the purchase of a new server and he will keep an eye on it. 

District 3 Bridge Road fund is at 61.1 percent of annual budgeted expenditures due to the purchase of new equipment in February. District 1’s road fund has now leveled out and is no longer over budget, Calcote said. 

District 5 supervisor and board president Doug Falvey thanked Calcote for his report. 

“Thank you for what you do,” Falvey said. “We have more information than we have ever gotten before on budgets.”
