BROOKHAVEN — Lincoln County Board of Supervisors voted in support of a new application for the fire truck acquisition assistance program Monday. The application would be entered for Loyd Star Volunteer Fire Department.

Last year the board of supervisors voted to allow Lincoln County Emergency Management Agency Director Chris Reid to put in an application for Ruth Fire Department to receive funding through the Rural Fire Truck Acquisition program for a new truck. Reid said Ruth is unable to move forward due to the high cost at this time.

He told the supervisors Monday that Loyd Star Volunteer Fire Department is interested in applying for the $90,000. Reid said they needed to add to the minutes that he would put in an application for Loyd Star as the county fire coordinator.
