BROOKHAVEN — Kelly Customs moved from the Ole Brook Gift Shop on 201 North Jackson Street to a new business space at 714 Halbert Heights Road Suite D in Brookhaven. Nancy Kelly, the owner, said they moved on March 1st and celebrated the move with a ribbon cutting April 3.

The company does custom design work for t-shirts, cups, mugs, plates, balloons and nick-nacks. Kelly said they will offer customized balloons and stuffed balloons filled with goodies and a stuffed animal for Mother’s Day this year.

The move came due to a better opportunity.

“Thank you for coming and supporting me when you were at my other spot,” Kelly said. “We did not have a falling out. I had a better opportunity to be on my own and we are still working together. This was a chance to be on my own.”

Kelly started her company following the COVID-19 pandemic. She initially worked in Child Protective Services for 14 years and decided to take her passion and career in a new direction.

Her focus is to now grow the business and work to customize everything a customer might need. She said she had always dreamed about the business being on its own.

“I didn’t know it would happen the way it did and this quick,” Kelly said. “My husband Carl Kelly and my mom Patricia Richardson are my biggest supporters. They have stood by me and supported me. I’m happy and thankful.”

The store is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 10  a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturdays.
