BROOKHAVEN — Isolated severe storms could roll through the area Monday night. The weather threat could last until 11 p.m. in addition to regular rain. 

National Weather Service in Jackson warns of severe storms the next three days. Mondays storms could produce isolated severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts, hail up to a quarter size and possibly a brief tornado. The threat for Lincoln County is until 11 pm today. 

Tuesday afternoon is when more storms could roll through. The weather forecast calls for isolated severe storms with damaging wind gusts and hail up to a quarter in size. Tornadoes can not be ruled out. The timing of the threat is from the afternoon into the evening. 

Lincoln County is under an enhanced risk Wednesday of severe storms. Severe storms are likely and damaging wind gusts could reach 70 mph. Hail can be as large as golfball size and tornadoes are likely. The timing of this threat will be late Wednesday morning into the evening. 

Substantial rainfall forecasted this week could cause flash flooding in low lying areas. Minor to moderate river flooding is possible. A majority of Lincoln County is under an elevated threat of flooding while Warren, Claiborne and Issaquena Counties are at a significant threat of flooding.

NWS Jackson warns four to seven inches of rain could fall in the next few days. The rain will lead to likely areas of flash flooding, roads may become flooded and closed. Some structures could be threatened with inundation while minor to moderate river flooding is possible. This could last from Tuesday morning in Wednesday.

Copiah, and Jefferson Counties are all under a flood watch according to the NWS Jackson office from late Monday night into Wednesday.
