Watch: Rain greets morning turkey woods as storms approach

LOYD STAR — A few hours before severe storms were set to reach Lincoln County, the morning started off with breezy winds and sprinkles of rain. By 6:40 a.m., the turkey woods were greeted with steady rain for about 30 minutes.

More rain, damaging winds, hail and possibility of tornadoes are coming today. The woods were quiet this morning aside from a handful of song birds, a couple of crows and a pair of Canadian geese flying to a field to feed.

Turkeys typically look for open fields, food plots, ridges and logging roads to dry out after a soaking rain.
