Brookhaven electric upgrades may be source of flickering power

BROOKHAVEN — Lights flickering, computers rebooting and the occasional sound of air conditioning units kicking back on are the symptoms of electric service disruptions in downtown Brookhaven Thursday. Entergy reports they are working to upgrade the power system in downtown Brookhaven.
Fisher Warren, a customer service manager for Entergy, told The Daily Leader they are working on upgrades to the system. Power flickers have been for a mere second.
“Some work is being done downtown near the courthouse area that is causing some flickering,” Warren said. “It is a power upgrade and they are making adjustments to make it perfect.”
There is a slight chance of rain Thursday for Lincoln County but no threats of severe weather. Weakened trees and limbs falling on power lines continues to be a concern after the drought and pine beetles killed pine trees across Mississippi.
