BROOKHAVEN — A renovation project is set to start this summer for the Brookhaven Little Theatre. Even better, Brookhavenites can leave a lasting legacy at the theater. 

BLT reports the new project will include new theater seating, new flooring, new pain and upgrades to the sound and lighting system. 

Once completed, the new renovations will mark the next chapter for The Haven. Mississippi Arts Commission is providing part of the funding for the project through their Building fund for the Arts grant.

BLT states it needs the help of Brookhaven residents to finish the project. A seat naming campaign is underway at the theater as “Leave a legacy at The Haven.” 

People are able to advertise their business, memorialize a loved one, honor someone for contributions to the arts or commemorate a special occasion. 

Legacy donations start out at $500 for premium seating, $250 for preferred seating and $100 for standard seating. Each gift is commemorated with a personalized nameplate with the text of your choice. Nameplates are limited to 4 lines with a maximum of 21 characters per line. BLT states it has the right to reject any seat name where the proposed text contains unacceptable language and/or does not abide by BLT’s standards. 

The nameplates will be placed on the back of the chair where they are clearly visible to those sitting in the row behind the chair. BLT states the seats are able to be selected on the online donation from the seating chart before checkout. 

Nameplates do not guarantee the seat as your actual seat for performances and is not a ticket. The campaign is sole a naming opportunity. Donations for the campaign are also tax deductible.
