Cougars survive, win series

NATCHEZ — Brookhaven Academy’s season will continue. The Cougars won their MAIS 5A baseball playoff series over Catherdral by taking the third game 11-0.
Cathedral won the second game 11-0 forcing the game three. Avery Griffin had three hits in the win for the Cougars and two RBIs.
Brookhaven Academy got off to a hot start with four runs in the first inning. The Cougars added six runs in the fifth inning to finish off the game. Griffin had a bases clearing triple in the fifth inning.
Cathedral gave up 10 hits and committed two errors. Brookhaven Academy gave up four hits and committed one error.
