The Wesson Garden Club had its May meeting on the 14th. The program was brought by individual members who brought their favorite garden tool and or plants. The meeting was most enjoyable with everyone bring a salad or dessert. 

The meeting was brought to order by President Denise Jackson. She presented the many awards the Wesson Garden Club was awarded by The Garden Clubs of Mississippi, Inc.

A special honor of Life Member was given to Mrs. Jean Ricks of Wesson. 

Mrs. Ricks Graduated from Mississippi College with Bachelors Degree in Business Education; received Masters in Business Education from University of Southern Mississippi. Served as President of Mississippi Business Education Association, Secretary and Executive Board Member, Co-Lin Education Association; President, Copiah County Economic Development District Board (First and only Woman President — So Far!); The Wesson Garden Club, served twice as president — currently serving as parliamentarian; The Garden Clubs of Mississippi — served as Natchez Trace District Director currently serving as parliamentarian. Actively involved in City Beautification. Having lived in Wesson for 69 years (how could that be she’s only 39 HA), it is easy to promote Wesson as a great place to live, work, and rear a family.
