Ms. Jackson, 92, was born in McCall Creek, MS on February 13, 1932. Betty was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and crocheting. She loved Elvis and the city of New Orleans; more than that she loved her family and her Lutheran Church – most of all, she loved Jesus. She was devoted to her vocation, serving as a nurse for many years and was licensed to practice in three states (Mississippi, Texas, and Tennessee).

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Idelle and Lewis Martin, and a brother, John Alton Martin.
