Funeral Services for James Elton Kyzar of Brookhaven, formerly of Wesson, were 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel, 894 Natchez Drive, with burial in Mt. Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery. Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive, was in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, from noon until time of service at Brookhaven Funeral Home, 894 Natchez Drive.

Mr. Kyzar, 78, died Oct. 16, 2014, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. He was born on April 20, 1936, in Lincoln County to Jesse and Lucy Lawrence Kyzar.

Mr. Kyzar was the retired business manager at Copiah-Lincoln Community College and member of Central Baptist Church of Brookhaven. He served four years active duty with the U.S. Navy and 20 years in the Reserves.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his daughter, Stephanie Kyzar Brown; his three brothers, Bertran Kyzar, Calvin Kyzar, Lawrence Kyzar; his six sisters, Bertile Kyzar Kimble, Jestine Kyzar Boyd, Geraldine Kyzar Young, Verla Kyzar Smith, Norva Lee Kyzar Reeves and Orell Kyzar Haralson.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Sparks Kyzar of Brookhaven; his son, James R. Kyzar (Melissa) of Bogue Chitto; his daughter, Megan Kyzar Kellum (Jeffrey) of Brookhaven; his son-in-law, Allen Brown of Bogue Chitto; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
