HEIDELBERG – The Loyd Star Lady Hornets saw their Cinderella season come to an end Friday after suffering a tough 47-24 loss to the Heidelberg Lady Oilers in the second round of the Class 2A State Playoffs.

“This was a tough lost for our girls,” said Loyd Star Gene “Moochie” Britt. “We came out and played a good game, but our shots would not fall. Heidelberg has a good team and their point guard No. 20 (Keyara Jones) is very talented.

“Overall, we had a great season,” added Britt. “The girls played hard throughout the season and I am very proud of their achievements.”
