Funeral Services for William Younger “Bill” Guess will not be held. A tribute will be made at this year’s Brookstock in Brookhaven on July 18. Heart of Texas Cremation and Burial Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Guess, 64, died April 4, 2015. He was born in Brookhaven to Ed and Nell Thompson Guess. Bill was the second of four children. He excelled in school as a musical prodigy and attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he made his home. He was a remarkable musician who could play almost any instrument that he touched. His musical diversity led him to invent the Schizotron, a guitar with a keyboard attached. In addition to his musical prowess, he could tell a joke with impeccable timing, and his culinary skills were outstanding to those lucky enough to enjoy his creations. To know him was to love him. He was a musician, inventor and gourmand.

Survivors are his siblings Eddie, Jimmy and Martha Jane Guess Philipp and John Dennis; two nephews, Ben and Spencer Philipp; his significant other Peggy McNeil; and his beloved dog Tippy.
