Funeral services for Hulon Perry Brown are Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial in Arlington Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Huey Moak, Bro. Matthew Green and Bro. Bob Lynch will be officiating the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation is Thursday, Jan. 14, 2016, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive and will continue Friday, Jan. 15, 2016, at Arlington Baptist Church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

Brookhaven.  He was born on Feb. 26, 1923, to Pence and Ola Mae Brown in Bogue Chitto.

Mr. Brown was a devoted husband to his wife, Irene, for 69 years.  He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, served in the Pacific Theater of Operations and received a Purple Heart for his service.  He was a faithful member of Arlington Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday school superintendent. He also served as a member of the Lincoln County School

Board for 12 years. He worked many years for Baker Oil Tools.  He later owned Brown’s Grocery, worked as a contractor for Magnolia Electric Power Association and worked for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Brown loved gospel music, watching sports, gardening, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Rushing Brown; parents; sisters, Margaret Brown, Betty Smith and husband, Alton; brothers, Hilton Brown and wife, Irene, and Hansel Brown and wife, Merle.

Survivors are his daughters, Patricia Russell and husband, Buddy, Becky Calcote and husband, Doug, and Perrian Brown, all of Brookhaven, and Penni Tilton and husband, Jim, of Moscow, Russia; brother, Robert Brown and wife, Marilyn; sisters, Katie Boyd, June Ballard, Ella Rose Jordan and Charlotte Matthews; grandchildren, Clark Calcote and wife, Kelly, David Calcote and wife, Claire, and Nathan, Joshua and Anna Claire Tilton;  great­grandchildren, Ava Caroline, Will Thomas, Warner, Harper, Hayes and Ella Calcote; and a host of family and
