Funeral services for Major Hurston “Buzz” Lea were Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) in Brookhaven with burial following in the Holly Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Brookhaven. Bro. Hubert Greer officiated the service. Brookhaven Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Visitation was Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home.

Mr. Lea, 80, died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at his residence in Brookhaven. He was born on Jan. 19, 1936, in Lincoln County, to Hurston and Della Estelle Whiddon Lea.

He worked for many years at McLane Southern Wholesale in Brookhaven and was a retired fireman with the Brookhaven Fire Department.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brother, Paul Lea.

Survivors are his sister, Jimmy Ruth Lea Fortenberry, of Columbia; brother, Hubert Lea and wife, Helen Ruth, of New Hebron; special caregiver, Barbara Phillips; and a host of family and friends.
