Track: West Lincoln boys finish first

West Lincoln finished first in the 5K event at the MHSAA 2A cross country championships Tuesday.

West Lincoln finished first in the 5K event at the MHSAA 2A cross country championships Tuesday with a team score of 56. Twelve schools participated in the event.

Jonathan Mathis finished third with a time of 19:07; Tiler Castillo finished fifth with a time of 19:45; Trevor Murray finished eighth with a time of 20:21; Ashtin Castillo finished 19th with a time of 22:03; and Justin Pratt finished 21st with a tiem of 22:07.

Loyd Star finished in third place and Enterprise finished in eighth overall.

Individual rankings in the region were:

• Austin Carter, Enterprise, first place with a time of 17:53

• Roberto Galindo, Loyd Star, seventh place with a time of 20:15

• Stephen Mills, Loyd Star, 12th place with a time of 21:32

• Leondre Dodds, Loyd Star, 13th place with a time of 21:41

The Enterprise girls team finished second in the 5K event in the MHSAA 2A cross country championships Tuesday with a team score of 59. West Lincoln finished in fifth place with a score of 123.

Top runners for West Lincoln were Lillianne Rushing in 12th place with a time of 26:25 and Georganna Allen in 17th place with a time of 26:57.

Individual rankings in the region were:

• Abby Thomas, Loyd Star, first place with a time of 21:01

• Aubrey Britt, Loyd Star, third place with a time of 24:14

• Claudia Romero, Enterprise, fifth place with a time of 24:14

• Shauna Hewitt, Enterprise, seventh place with a time of 25:36

• Marlee Gunnell, Enterprise, 13th place with a time of 26:26

Schools in 2A will run again in the state meet Nov. 7 at Choctaw Trails.
