Funeral services for Elizabeth Justine McInnis, of Brookhaven, are today, Dec. 20, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive), with burial at Rosehill Cemetery in Brookhaven. Bro. Greg Warnock will officiate.

Visitation will be today, Dec. 20, 2016, from 10 until time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. McInnis, 94, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2016, at The Woodlands Nursing and Rehab in Clinton. She was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Johnston City, Illinois, to Stelsa Creighton. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother. She was trained and worked as a registered nurse in Jacksonville, Illinois. She moved to Brookhaven in 1948, and married Elmer V. McInnis Jr. in 1954. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Brookhaven where she served during Sunday School in the nursery for 27 years. 

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; and brother, Harold D. Rice.

Survivors are her son, Elmer V. McInnis III and wife Treva, of Madison; daughters, Melissa Honea and husband Michael, of Madison, Melinda Williams, of Brookhaven and Benny Holden, of Brandon; three grandchildren, Amanda Sokolich and husband Jason, Brandon Williams and Sam Thomas McInnis; and one great-grandchild Ico Sokolich.
