Mildred ‘Tonie’ Morgan Britt

Funeral services for Mildred “Tonie” Morgan Britt, of Brookhaven, are Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial at Easthaven Cemetery. Bro. David Lambert will officiate.

Visitation will be today, Dec. 22, 2016, from 5 until 8 p.m. and will continue Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Britt, 87, died Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center with her loving family by her side. She was born June 19, 1929, to Henry L. and Erma Brown Morgan. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Ridge Pentecostal Church. She worked at the Stahl Urban garment factory in the cutting room for 54 years, and enjoyed reading through her Bible, making candy for her family and friends, and watching her grandchildren play ball. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great great-grandmother and friend.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, James Bennon Britt; son, James Larry Britt; sister, Helen Morgan Timms; and brother, Gerald Morgan.

Survivors are her daughters, Judy Britt Speights and husband Wayne, of Brookhaven, and Susan Britt Birdsong and fiancé Essey Rushing, of Brookhaven; sons, Don Britt and wife Marji, of Wesson, and John Britt, of Brookhaven; daughter-in-law, Debbie Wade Britt, of Brandon; brother, Ralph Morgan and wife Betty, of Kyzer, Oragan; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great- great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Todd Reeves, Eric Birdsong, Kris Carter, Bud Britt, J D Britt and Mark Lang. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Speights, Noah Speights, Michael Britt and Bennon Britt.
