Funeral services for Larry Wade Malone, of Coldwater, were Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church with burial at 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Bruce (Calhoun County). Bro. Robert Maddux and Bro. Tim Smith officiated. Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley was in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was held Sunday, Jan. 8, 2017, at the church.

Mr. Wade, 72, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2017, at his home. He was born July 29, 1944, in Houlka to the late Renzie Poyner and Sarah “S.T.” Crocker Malone. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Coldwater and a veteran of the Mississippi National Guard. He was an agriculture teacher for the Tate County School System where he retired after 38 years of service. He received Teacher of the Year and devoted countless hours to his students, helping them develop their leadership skills and proudly watching several of the FFA Youth go on to become state officers in FFA. He was an active member of the MS Association of Vocational Agriculture Teachers, MS FFA Alumni, Independence FFA Alumni, MS State University Alumni, State of MS Horse Show Association and Tri-Lakes Western Horse Show Association. He enjoyed cooking on the grill and feeding his family and friends, watching football and riding horses. Some of his greatest achievements were watching his children and grandchildren ride and show horses.

Preceding him in death are his parents; and brother, Travis Malone.

Survivors are his wife of 47 years, Linda Dee Edwards Malone, of Coldwater; two daughters, Lorrie Lofton (Chad), of Brookhaven, and Lisa Malone, of Coldwater; six grandchildren, Shelby Nabors, Ashley Nabors Roberts (Mark), Brittany Wade, Jacob Lofton, Deanna Lofton and Maggie Lofton; two sisters-in-law, Ann Malone of Bruce, and Donna Crump (Jeff), of Tupelo; one niece, Tracie Lee (Chad), of Bruce; one great-niece, Codi Beth Lee, of Bruce; one great-great-nephew; and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorials be made to Hope Lodge, 2008 Charlotte Ave. Nashville, TN 37203.
