Funeral services for Don Lawrence Davis Sr. are Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2017, at Decell United Methodist Church in Wesson from 10 until 11:30 a.m. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 30, 2017, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven.

Mr. Davis, 75, died peacefully at his home Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017.

He was born Feb. 15, 1941, in Alton, Illinois. He was a former bank vice president of First Guaranty of Hammond, Louisiana, past president of the Hammond Jaycees, former president of the Hammond Chamber of Commerce, member of the Hammond Exchange Club and Hammond Rotary Club, past director of the Hammond Industrial Boulevard Board, and was a recipient of the Hammond Outstanding Young Man of the Year award.  He was proprietor of the Inez Restaurant with his wife, Elizabeth “Sissy” Berry Davis, from 1989 to 2009 and was a graduate of Copiah-Lincoln Community College, Southeastern Louisiana University and LSU Baking School of the South.

Preceding him in death was his wife; parents, Richard Larson Davis and Doris Vitrano Davis; and a brother, Richard C. Davis. 

Davis was a loving father.

Survivors include four children Don Lawrence Jr., Terri Davis Binns, Shannon Davis Breland and Richard John “Ricky” Davis; five grandchildren, Katelynn Brown, Preston Binns, Hilary Winters, Larson Graham and Madeleine Brown; and four great-grandchildren.
