Funeral services for Doris Mae Woodall Coker Pezant, of McComb, will be today, April 6, 2017, at 10 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home on Park Drive with burial at Navilla Baptist Church Cemetery. Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation was held Wednesday, April 5, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and will continue today, April 6, 2017, from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Pezant, 83, died Monday, April 3, 2017 at the Asbury Hospice House in Hattiesburg.

She was born on Aug. 21, 1933 in Pike County to Robert Woodall and Lula Bell Pine Woodall. She worked for many years as a dietician for Cartwheel Lodge in Brookhaven. She also worked for Berner’s Florist and the Baptist Children’s Village. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Pricedale, and a former longtime member of Navilla Baptist Church. She was also a member of Woodman of the World. She was a wonderful homemaker and cook, most known for her gumbo. She had many hobbies which included fishing and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Paul Coker Sr.; two sons, Wendell Alan Coker and Paul Gordon Coker Jr.; her brothers, a twin Donald Ray Woodall, Hilton Woodall, George Woodall, Edward Woodall, Charles Woodall, James Woodall and Melvin Woodall; and sisters, Camille Nimon, Aline Duhe, Helen Graham, Alice Newman, Monteen Hayes and Johnnie Pearl Woodall.

Survivors include her husband; Joe Pezant of McComb, son and daughter-in-law; Donnie and Debbie Coker of McComb, a daughter; Darlene East of Houma, Louisiana, a daughter-in-law, Betsy Coker of Brookhaven, stepsons and daughters-in-law; Joey and Wanda Pezant of Denham Springs, Louisiana, and Steve and Tammy Pezant of Natchitoches, Louisiana, stepdaughters and son-in-law; Theresa Brumfield of McComb and Lisa and Steve Kuyrkendall of Madison, a sister; M.J. Woodall, grandchildren and their spouses; Paige Campo and Joey, Paul Gordon Coker III and Kelly, Tyler Coker and Heather, Chloe Mahaffey and Stephen, Ariel East, Brett Coker and Loni, Nick Coker and Molly, Noele Brenner and Paul, Kayla Morgan and Wes, Joe Pezant III, Eddie Pezant, Megan Mcleod and Kendall, Sonja Pezant, Gerri Wilson, Joshua Kuyrkendall and Benjamin Kuyrkendall, 14 great-grandchildren and with numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Brett Coker, Nick Coker, Logan Coker, Paul Coker, Tyler Coker, Stephen Mahaffey, Benjamin Kuyrkendall and Joshua Kuyrkendall.

Memorial donations in honor of Mrs. Pezant’s may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
