Funeral service for Rev. Kent Hays Cochran, of Brookhaven, are Friday, June 23, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Visitation will be today, June 22, 2017, from 5 until 8 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven and will continue Friday, June 23, 2017, from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church.

Rev. Cochran, 67, died Monday, June 19, 2017. He was born Oct. 26, 1949, to Frank Ralph Cochran and Josephine Leona Hays Cochran. He faithfully served the Lord Jesus Christ in ministry, for 40 years, serving Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Brookhaven for 25 of those years. He also served on many committees of the Mississippi Baptist Convention and Lincoln County Baptist Association. He served his country in the United States National Guard. His presence will be greatly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and his mother and father-in-law, Sammie and Marshalene Boyd.

Survivors are his wife, Millie Boyd Cochran; daughter, Kelli Cochran Spring (Clint); his son, Ryan Kent Cochran (Emily); sister, Cathy Cochran Meldahl (Craig); one grandson, Hays Kent Cochran; brothers-in-law, Jerrell Boyd (Linda), Jimmy Boyd (Dixie); and sisters-in-law, Rose Sones (Paul), Kay Beard (Garry), Alice Sandifer (Sandy); a host of nieces and nephews, the loving family of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and by his fellow pastors and families who will forever remember his kindness and humble spirit.
