Funeral services for Gary W. Pruitt, of Monahans, Texas, are Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church in Monahans, Texas, with cremation to follow. Pastor Jeppie Wilson will officiate the services. Harkey Funeral Home in Monahans, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be today, Aug. 15, 2017, from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Pruitt, 64, died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, in Monahans, Texas. He was born Feb. 1, 1953, in Lubbock, Texas, to Joe L. Pruitt and Joan C. Pruitt. He attended school in Snyder, Texas, Denver City, Texas, and Hobbs, New Mexico. He served in the Army from 1975 to 1981 as a military police officer. He worked many years in the oil and gas industry. He married Ann A. Pruitt on April 5, 1977. They recently celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.

Survivors are his wife, Ann; daughter, Amanda Breaux and husband Rudy Breaux, of Monahans, Texas; and their two children, Katelynn Breaux, 19, and Kristopher Breaux, 15; daughter, Lacreasha Montgomery of Hobbs, New Mexico, her and two daughters, Jessica Thompson and Miguela Thompson, of Hobbs, New Mexico, and her son Ronnie Montgomery, of Hobbs, New Mexico, and his three daughters, Karsyn, Kynlee, Kamsyn Thompson; sister, Deborah Parker; of Hobbs, New Mexico; brother, Stevie Pruitt, of Abilene, Texas, and Terry Pruitt of Carlsbad, New Mexico, and numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.

We would like to send a special thank you to Bobby and Linda Guarduno for their love and friendship as well as Johnny LeBlanc, adopted daughter Samantha Thompson and her daughter, Alivia.
