Funeral services for Louise Brown, of Brookhaven, are Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Riverwood Family Funeral Service in Brookhaven with burial at Riverwood Memorial Park. Rev. Greg Warnock will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2017, from 10 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home.

Mrs. Brown, 90, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2017, in Brookhaven. She was born Oct. 10, 1926, to Phillip and Lula Mae Cook. She served her country as a civilian Bomb Girl during World War II. She was also a member of the gardening clubs in Brookhaven, as well as a dedicated member of First Baptist Church of Brookhaven. While she was a resident of Brook Manor Nursing Home, she was elected as the Valentine Queen. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence L. Brown Sr.; parents; sons, Michael Craig Brown and Phillip Mitchell Brown; and four brothers.

Survivors are her son, Lawrence Lester Brown Jr. and wife Gloria Jean; sister, Patricia Wallace; grandchildren, Sara Michelle Highfill and husband Andy, Chelsie Leann Bowlin and husband Clayton, Nicholas Brown and Christopher Brown; and great-grandchildren, Lucas Bowlin, Levi Highfill and Amelia Highfill.
