Funeral services for Ruby Lee Smith Rippy, of Summit, will be Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Brookhaven Funeral Home (Natchez Drive) with burial in the Harris Rawls Cemetery in Bogue Chitto. Bro. Wendell Davis will officiate the services. Brookhaven Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be today, Sept. 9, 2017, from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Rippy, 91, died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born Feb. 12, 1926, in Franklin County to James A. and Hattie R. Smith.

She enjoyed reading, watching TV, playing bingo and spending time with all her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and friend.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Joe Rippy; five sisters; and four brothers.

Survivors are her daughter, Cathy R. Oliver and husband Kenneth, of Summit; grandchildren, Jill Case and husband Dustin of Loyd Star, and Samuel Lewis of Brookhaven; great-grandchildren, Haze, Charli and Bently Case, Harlee Davis, and Jordan and Madi Lewis; great-great-grandchild Karson McKay; and a host of family and friends.
